Whirlpools - A whirlpool is different from a hot tub in that it uses fresh water instead of chemically treated water and is usually situated in the privacy of a bathroom setting. People sometimes use the brand name of Jacuzzi to describe a whirlpool. There are many excellent brands of whirlpools on the market. Moondance Ridge B&B offers American Standard whirlpools with the Stay Clean option. American Standard is the first whirlpool manufacturer to incorporate Antimicrobial AlphaSan, a silver-based antimicrobial agent, designed to inhibit bacteria and bio-film build-up in the plumbing, resulting in a cleaner whirlpool. Moondance Ridge B&B offers whirlpools in every room. With the exception of the Moondance Suite that has a corner whirlpool and separate multi-head shower system, all our whirlpools are oversized six foot tubs. We offer complementary aromatherapy to enhance your whirlpool experience.
Note: Drink water before and after each whirlpool and do not use the whirlpool if there is any indication of dehydration. A whirlpool must never be taken while under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. Do not spend more than 15 to 20 minutes a day in a whirlpool and never use both the whirlpool and sauna on the same day.
Prohibitions: If you have a known medical condition, are pregnant or seeing a doctor for any symptom the use of whirlpools should be avoided until your medical consultation is concluded and the doctor determines whether you are able to use a whirlpool. Labyrinth - The labyrinth has been in existence since around 3000 BC. It has served many purposes in varied cultures and religious settings. There is evidence of labyrinths throughout Europe, Asia and Native American communities. The labyrinth's ancient power derives from the fact that it is an archetypal map of a healing journey. The walk itself is a potent physical metaphor for the many levels of our journeys in life. The labyrinth provides a marvelous opportunity to recover the rhythms of our own breath, gait and the inner flow of our thoughts and feelings. The Moondance Labyrinth uses the most ancient of the designs called Cretan. It is situated in our front garden area looking out toward the Shawangunk Mountains. Happily there are no health restrictions in walking a labyrinth.
The Gardens and Woodland at Moondance Ridge - The gardens and woodland at Moondance Ridge Bed and Breakfast are registered as a Wildlife Habitat. It was designed with the purpose of providing a relaxing setting for your stay. Where ever possible, we use native vegetation and organic fertilizer. We work with a local botanist to select vegetation that is a source of food and nesting for wildlife native to the area. The lawn art in the meadow was left from the days when this land was used for farming. It is now kept as a source of natural beauty and history.
